you've fallen barefoot past the treeline / beaten, boned-eyed, butchered, swayed / a thousand whitefish floating belly up / in the spirit that i crave / and we threw ourselves right into it / where lay the bodies had been claimed / we dove a third out for the fifth / banned to the spirit that i crave / all i need is some sunshine

well, i came home / like a stone / and i fell heavy into your arms / these days of dust / which we've known / will blow away with this new sun / but i'll kneel down / wait for now / and i'll kneel down / know my ground / and i will wait, i will wait for you

time turns over, when gazing into the night. your sensations information is making it turn to life, to be near you just feels right - mountains and valley hikes. i brought the flowers to the picnic, the linen is eggshell white, and they say darkness falls, i miss you more.

and all the while i say too much of what i think / and i can't remember what it's like to find meaning in anything / for the life of me / everyone i used to know / says they don't know what i've become / but i'm still the same / not much has changed / i still know where I came from / and all i ever wanted was so far from what i need / i'll write my songs, they'll sing along, and hope time heals everything / i fell asleep with the lights on

they said "a pox upon your house, upon your family and everyone you knew, and everyone you'll ever meet." i bet they think we wish we joined when we could, but we do what we want, we don't do what we should. now, everybody's laughing, 'cause they're thinking they're in on something i don't get. don't forget: i connect and i read every word you said.
